Police investigating early morning assault

Goldsboro police have charged Jerelle Ontario Hagens, 21, 403 S. Carolina St., with indecent exposure, assault on a female and placed him in the Wayne County Jail under a $1,000 secured bond after an alleged assault on a 20-year-old female early this morning.
The incident took place in the 300 block of North Carolina Street just after 2 a.m., according to a Goldsboro police report.
Hagens allegedly approached the woman while she was sitting on her porch and began talking to her.
The victim told police that Hagens exposed himself to her and began pulling on her clothes. He grabbed her by the arm pulling her up out of her chair and slapped her repeatedly until she broke free, she said.
She said she grabbed Hagens and held him down so he could no longer hit her, but as soon as she let him up he slapped her three more times and punched her once in the face before he fled on foot.
