As another school year draws to a close, Wayne County Public Schools announced its 2014-2015 Teachers of the Year for each of the 31 schools in the district.

The educators will serve as representatives for their respective schools, in preparation to compete for the districtwide honor.

For the next round of competition, the candidates will complete portfolios that will be submitted to the WCPS Teacher of the Year selection committee. The portfolios will be reviewed and the committee will conduct interviews of the educators in August.

The field will then be narrowed down to three finalists -- one each, for the elementary, middle and high school levels.

The school system's Teacher of the Year will be chosen from the finalists and announced at the annual banquet, planned for Aug. 19 at Goldsboro Country Club.
