Two men charged in April robbery

The Goldsboro Police Department charged two men in connection with an April armed robbery.
Shavaye Brooks, 19, of Raleigh, and Antonio Deans, 21, of Goldsboro, are each charged with first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
Brooks also had an outstanding warrant for probation violation and was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $250,000 secured bond.
Deans' bond is set at $351,000 secured.
Brooks and Deans allegedly entered the home of Connie Brown at 415 S. George St. and robbed him at gunpoint.
Investigators soon identified Brooks and Deans as suspects and secured warrants for each man's arrest.
Brooks was taken into custody May 20 and charged.
Police caught up with, and arrested, Deans at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday.
Deans is due to appear in Wayne County District Court June 23.
Brooks' next court date is Aug. 27.
