Two men charged with drug trafficking

The Goldsboro/Wayne County Interagency Drug Task Force, investigating the ongoing illegal distribution of heroin in Wayne County, charged two men with drug trafficking following a traffic stop on Tommy's Road.
Michael Patrick Obrien, 44, of Dudley, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver methodone, possession of oxycodone and three counts of failure to appear.
He was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $15,000 secured bond.
Julio Otto Schmidt, 52, 153 Vail Road in Pikeville, is charged with possession of oxycodone and was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $1,000 secured bond.
According to the press release issued today by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, investigators witnessed a drug transaction take place during the course of their investigation.
The detectives conducted a traffic stop and located heroin, methodone, hydrocodone and drug paraphernalia.
Both men were taken into custody without incident.
