Five to compete for title of Miss Goldsboro High School

Five contestants will compete for the crown of Miss Goldsboro High School on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the school auditorium.

Tickets are $5 a person and can be purchased at the door.

Contestant No. 1 is Emili Zelaya, a junior, is the daughter of Rose Garcia and Miguel Zelaya. For her talent, she will demonstrate how to use prosthetic makeup. She plans to attend Virginia Commonwealth University.

Contestant No. 2, Lakhia Fuller, is a junior and the daughter of Cordialla George. She plans to enlist in the Air Force and attend N.C. State University to major in zoology. For her talent, she will read a poem by Lana Del Ray.

Contestant No. 3, Neysa Wellington is the daughter of Morris and Georgette Artis and a junior. She will perform a dance routine. After high school, she plans to attend East Carolina University after high school and major in psychology and criminology.

Contestant No. 4, Rekanese McKinney, a junior, is the daughter of Lakeshia McKinney. For her talent, she will do a mind dance. Plans after high school include attending Howard University School of Law.

Contestant No. 5 is sophomore Waverlea Brown. The daughter of Simone Knight, she will read an original poem for her talent. She plans to  attend UNC-Chapel Hill or Spelman College to pursue a degree in biology.
