Majesty Rose York
Majesty Rose York's run on "American Idol" came to an end Thursday night, as she was the low vote-getter and failed to get the judges only "save" of the season.
This marked the third week in a row the singer wound up in the bottom three.
Her immediate reaction was to call for a microphone. Host Ryan Seacrest asked, "So why'd you say you knew it?"
"I don't know, I just knew," she replied.
Her swan song was "Happy" by Pharrell Williams, but it wouldn't be enough to keep her in the competition.
"Will you use the save on Majesty?" Seacrest asked the judges, as the audience could be heard chanting, "Save her! Save her! Save her!"
Judge Keith Urban said, "First of all, this has without doubt has been the hardest deliberation from us tonight. It really has. We're talking about the plusses and minuses, pros and cons and everything like that. It's not about talent and your ability or anything like that.
"But we gotta agree and by a narrow, narrow margin, we're not going to use our save tonight. I'm so sorry, baby."
Seacrest tried to console singer, reminding her she'd still be joining up with the group on the upcoming summer "American Idol" tour.
"Yes! I'll see you guys soon," she said to the audience.
"We love you so much, sweetheart," Seacrest said, hugging her. "We're going to miss you. Thank you for everything."
"Thank you for being my friend, Ryan," Majesty said, wiping away a tear. "My gosh, I don't want to cry on TV."
With that, the other contestants in the Top 8 surrounded her and enveloped her in hugs.
The competition continues next week on Fox TV, but without the beloved local singer.
"We love Majesty," Seacrest said, as the judges gave her a standing ovation.
