A "Getting Paid to Talk" voice workshop will be held Monday, March 24, at Herman Park Center, presented by Voice Coaches of New York.
The voice-over industry is a growing one, said Warren Garling, director of marketing with Voice Coaches. Advances in technology and changes in the way information is presented continue to open doors for voice-over artists.
Garling said people from all walks of life are turning to voice acting for supplemental retirement income, or even as a full-time career.
Those attending will learn everything from the basics of getting started and working in the studio to effective demo production methods and where to look for opportunities in and around this community.
They will also have the chance to record a mock commercial under the direction of a Voice Coaches producer.
Cost is $15. Pre-registration is required by calling 919-739-7480.
