Bobby Whitley Jr. of Shine casts his line into the pond at Cliffs of the Neuse State Park Monday afternoon. Whitley and his father, Bobby Whitley Sr., were taking advantage of the warm weather by fishing. He said, "This is the first time I've fished in the pond. I usually fish in the creek, but it is too muddy today." Water from the recent winter weather was released from Raleigh causing fast moving water to stir up dirt from the riverbed.
