Gary Baldwin Jr., a gas truck driver from Pikeville, is celebrating a lucky lottery win streak that ended with a $200,000 prize in the $200,000 Extreme Cash game.
"I did something nice for someone last week and ever since I've been winning on lottery tickets," Baldwin said. "I won $100 on Thursday, $50 on Friday, $125 on Sunday and then $200,000 on Monday night."
Baldwin learned of his big win while sitting in the parking lot of the Kangaroo Express on South Church Street in Kenly, where he purchased the lucky $5 ticket.
"I must have looked at the ticket 10 times," Baldwin said. "I started screaming and hollering when I realized how much I had won."
After state and federal taxes were withheld, Baldwin received $138,401. He plans to use a portion of his winnings to buy a new 2014 Chevy Silverado and pay bills.
"This is just good karma," Baldwin added. "You never believe it will happen to you, but it feels great when it does."
One more top prize remains to be claimed in the $200,000 Extreme Cash game.
