Another challenger files in nonpartisan board race

A second primary has emerged among the nonpartisan Wayne County Board of Education seats to be decided in the May 6 primary.
Phillip J. Sexton of Goldsboro has filed for the District 1 seat now held by Chris West of Pikeville. West has filed for re-election.
The other primary is in District 4 where incumbent board member John Grantham of the Grantham community is being challenged by Jennifer Smith Strickland of Goldsboro.
District 5 board member Arnold Flowers also has filed for re-election. Also up in the primary is the District 6 seat held by Rick Pridgen.
The filing period ends Friday, Feb. 28, at noon.
