The N.C. State Highway Patrol has identified the driver killed in the Saturday evening accident in Mount Olive that also injured three other people.
Yobani Palacios, 22, of Dudley, was headed south on 117 Alternate when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with the second vehicle.
The driver of the other car, identified as Keith Kurinec, 20, of Goldsboro, was transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol is suspected to have been a factor in the wreck, which took place at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, according to investigators.
Blood was drawn from the victim at the time of the autopsy to determine if that is in fact the case.
