Drivers killed in head-on crash Sunday

A head-on collision near Seven Springs on N.C. 55 claimed the lives of both drivers early Sunday morning.
Alexis Rodriguez, 37, of Hilltop Path in LaGrange, was headed west on N.C. 55 when the car he was driving crossed the center line and struck another driven by Acencicy Flores, 47, head-on.
The N.C. Highway Patrol investigated the crash, which took place at 2:30 a.m., and found alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
"Both men died at the scene," patrol 1st Sgt. Jerry Burton said.
No other vehicles were involved, and neither car had any passengers.
