A joint operation checkpoint at the intersection of U.S. 117 and Main Street in Mount Olive held Oct. 5 resulted in 150 different charges.

The zero tolerance checkpoint checked seat belts, driver's licenses, tags and any other possible problems. If there was a problem, the individual was charged. A few drivers, however, may have gotten lucky.

"The checkpoint bottlenecked. We had to wave a few through," said Mount Olive Police Chief Brian Rhodes.

A total of 13 officers from Mount Olive Police Department, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Goldsboro Police Department, Fremont Police Department and the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement took part in the checkpoint.

The charges were as follows:

* 7 registration violations

* 7 driving while license revoked

* 4 seat belt violations

* 5 child restraint violations

* 1 driving while intoxicated

* 5 open container violations

* 5 inspections violations

* 1 misdemeanor criminal charge

* 10 other traffic violations

* 1 warrant serviced
