On Saturday, at approximately 1:45 p.m., officers of the Goldsboro Police Department responded to the 900 block of North John Street. Once officers arrived, they located an unconscious man that was later identified as Leodis Hamlin Jr., 36.
Witnesses advised the officers that Jerry Parks, 39, of 910 N. John St., struck Hamlin in the face with a hammer and fled the scene on foot.
A warrant for arrest has been secured on Jerry Aundrey Parks, aka "JP," for attempted homicide.
