They claim that their home county is among the most patriotic in the country -- that the presence of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and a large veterans community inside its limits makes Wayne County bleed red, white and blue.
But those who have organized the April arrival of the Wall That Heals say they want their neighbors to help them back up that claim the day the replica makes its way into Goldsboro.
So now, they are organizing a lineup along Wayne Memorial Drive -- a chance, they say, for local residents to live up to their reputation by cheering the procession as it makes its way to Wayne Community College.
Those who wish to help honor the wall as it passes are asked to line up at 3 p.m. April 16 between the Starbucks on Wayne Memorial and the college.
