A second arrest has been made in the October 2012 murder of 25-year-old Justin Travis Lancaster, of Dudley, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday.

Shyquan Omar Lattner, 22, of 105 Ridgefield Drive, has been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is being held in the Wayne County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond.

Lattner's arrest comes just one week after Lancaster's suspected killer turned himself in to investigators.

Gerald George Lee, 19, was arrested and charged with Lancaster's murder on March 16. Officials with the Sheriff's Office said at the time of Lee's arrest the murder appeared to be connected to a drug deal turned robbery.

Information gathered throughout the course of the investigation has tied Lattner to that robbery, but investigators would not say in what way he was involved.

Maj. Tom Effler, investigations chief at the Sheriff's Office, said "conspiracy" could mean the suspect helped to plan the robbery, provided the tools with which the crime was carried out or was otherwise a part of it.

"It will be up to the D.A.'s Office, once we hand over the case file, to review everything and decide on more charges," Effler said.

Lee, presently charged with murder and held without bond, could also face conspiracy charges, but Effler said it was unlikely that Lattner would be charged with murder.

"We have no reason to think, at this time, that (Lattner) was there at the time of the killing," Effler said.
