Fast and Furious flattrack motorcycle racing returns to Busco Beach on Saturday, April 6, as part of the Southeast Motorcycle Dirt Track Racing Association Eastern N.C. race weekend doubleheader.

The first event is Friday, April 5, at B and B Speedway in Macclesfield.

Last year the flattrack motorcycles took on the 1/4-mile Busco oval flattrack to a packed house of race fans as the racers showcased the traditional and uniquely American style of motorcycle racing that combines speed and agility as racers battle handlebar to handlebar, inches apart, while controlling their sliding motorcycles at high speeds through the turns. This combined with the track prep expertise of the Busco beach crew, the event will be assured of a perfect racing surface that will produce the "The Greatest Show on Dirt."

The SEMDTRA Series encompasses the Carolinas and Georgia areas. Organizers said they are proud to have several former AMA Grand National dirt track racers as a part of the series.

The result is an exciting action packed fast paced program that starts on time and ends on time that the racers and fans alike come to enjoy and expect. SEMDTRA's racing classes include kids from 4 years old racing 50cc minibikes to 76-year-old great-grandfathers racing vintage motorcycles and even a stock MX bike class.

There will be a meet and greet with racers and vintage bikes along with modern bikes at Fun Products on Royall Avenue on Saturday, April 6, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. before the race at Busco.

Gates at both tracks open at 1 p.m., with practice at 5 p.m. and racing starting at 7.
