In a change this year, AARP volunteers will not be at the Peggy M. Seegars Senior Center, nor will the appointments be set by the senior center.
Instead, AARP volunteers will be at the Veteran's Building at 2001D E. Ash St., next to the Senior Center, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. starting Jan. 30 and ending on April 10.
Taxes will be done on a first come, first served basis with Seniors receiving priority. No appointments will be given.
The AARP Tax Assistant will need your W2s, Form 1099s and proof of Social Security income. Bring proof of donations, vehicle taxes, home taxes, mortgage interests and out-of-pocket medical expenses. Each taxpayer must bring a Social Security Card and photo ID.
