Schools to close early Friday

Officials with Wayne County Public Schools announced this evening that school will be dismissed three hours early Friday due to the threat of a winter storm and potential hazardous road conditions. In addition, all after-school programs and school-sponsored events have also been canceled for Friday and Saturday. This includes all scheduled athletic practices and competitions, 4-H programs, remediation, PTA meetings, awards ceremonies, plays and parent seminars. Schools hosting the SAT tests on Saturday morning will postpone testing to a later date.
