People wanting to get a piece of a $1.1 billion settlement concerning LCD flat screen televisions, monitors and laptops have until Thursday to file a claim as part of a class-action lawsuit against ten manufacturers of the screens.

The settlement grew out of allegations of a conspiracy to raise the price of LCD screens used in products and eligible customers could potentially collect more than $200, depending on how many products they purchased during the years 1999 and 2006.

Businesses could potentially recoup many thousands of dollars through a simple claims process that requires no receipts, but instead asks three questions about any televisions, monitors or laptops you or your family purchased over those seven years.

North Carolina is among 24 settling states and the District of Columbia where consumers can find if they're eligible for a portion of the settlement at LCDclass.com. The defendants that manufactured the flat panels are AU Optronics, Hitachi, Sharp, Toshiba, Samsung, Epson, LG, Chunghwa Picture Tubes, HannStar Display and Chi Mei Optoelectronics.
