Joy Price, dressed in 19th-century period attire, displays small homemade ornaments that would have decorated a Christmas tree in the 1800s at the Charles B. Aycock Birthplace on Tuesday. The annual Christmas holiday tours of the Aycock Birthplace take visitors back to the traditions and customs of Christmas festivities of the era, which include the hanging of stockings by the fireplace and the placing of homemade ornaments on a Christmas tree. The tours continue tonight from 6:30 until 9 p.m. This evening, Victorian carolers will sing traditional holiday songs.
