Santa makes stop in Pikeville

Santa Claus waves to the crowd during the town of Pikeville's annual Christmas Parade on Sunday afternoon. People of all ages lined the streets of the town to enjoy the sights and sounds of the bands and floats and the mild temperatures and sunny skies. It was a big weekend for parades across Wayne County, with five being held from Mount Olive to Fremont. More are planned, with the Eureka parade on Sunday at 3 p.m., the Parkstown parade on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 3:45 p.m., and the Cherry-O'Berry parade on Friday, Dec. 14, at 3:30 p.m.
