Members of the Wayne County Veterans and Patriots Coalition confirmed this morning that 75 groups have entered Saturday's Veterans Day parade.

The event kicks off at 11 a.m. along Center Street and following the procession, the Daughters of the American Revolution will host local veterans for a social at the Wayne County Museum.

A wreath-laying ceremony also will be held Saturday. It is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Wayne County Veterans Memorial, located at the corner of Walnut and William streets.

The Warsaw Veterans Day Parade also will be held on Saturday, starting at 11 a.m.

It is the oldest continuous Veterans Day parade in the nation, now in its 92nd year, and attracts viewers from across eastern North Carolina, as well as other states.

The day's events will include a breakfast at the Masonic Lodge at 8 a.m. and a memorial service at the Veterans' Park at 10.
