A local jewelry store was robbed of roughly $40,000 worth of gold Wednesday, according to an investigation report obtained at the Goldsboro Police Department this morning.
Employees at Jewelry Unlimited, 920 Spence Ave., told investigators that a person wearing a mask and dark clothing and gloves gained entry to the business by breaking through a shared interior wall inside the Dollar Tree, stole $40,000 worth of gold chains and fled through the jewelers back exit.
Both the Dollar Tree and Jewelry Unlimited reported $100 in wall damage, in addition to the value of the goods.
No description, other than the clothing and the "medium build" of the perpetrator, was given.
