A robbery-kidnapping allegedly took place just before 1 a.m. today, in the 1000 block of Poplar Street, according to Goldsboro police.

The victim, Marcus Toney, a 21-year-old airman, was eventually released, unharmed.

Toney, according to the report, was on Poplar Street when a blue, four-door sedan pulled up behind him and blocked his escape.

Four men, at least one of them armed with what the report refers to as an undetermined long gun, approached his 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse and demanded that he "give it up."

One of the suspects, all of whom are described as slim black males about 18 years old, got into Toney's car and left heading south on Poplar Street.

The rest of the men, after also robbing him of his $200 cell phone and $8 in cash, forced Toney into their vehicle, thought to be a Honda, and held him captive, according to the report.

Toney told police that the men drove around with him in their vehicle for more than an hour before dropping him in the 900 block of Carver Drive.

The stolen Eclipse is listed as red with Spider-Man designs on it, and is valued at $18,000.
