Cindy Sanford, administrative systems technician at Wayne Community College, has been presented the 2012 Outstanding Achievement Award by the N.C. Community College System's Institutional Information Processing System Users Group, or IIPS.
The award is given annually to a person who has provided outstanding service to the IIPS organization or to an IIPS member who has outstanding achievement in some other area of their life. The recipient is chosen by past recipients.
Mrs. Sanford, who has served as secretary, president, and twice as eastern region vice president, shares the award with Tara Williams, director of computer services/systems administrator at Randolph Community College. The two women are the current IIPS co-event/vendor coordinators.
Mrs. Sanford has worked at WCC since 1988 and lives in the Buck Swamp community with her husband, Curt and son, Jacob.
