Johnston County Finance Department honored

Johnston County has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its comprehensive annual financial report.
The award is the highest form of recognition in local government accounting and financial reporting and represents a significant accomplishment by the county's government.
The award specifically noted the county's "spirit of full disclosure" in clearly communicating its financial picture.
The association is a nonprofit organization serving 17,500 government finance professionals. It has offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
