Detour today as work begins on N.C. 111

A section of N.C. 111 North (Patetown Road) near U.S. 117 will be closed starting this morning through July 29 for the state Department of Transportation to complete two projects.

The projects include construction of a right turn lane on Wayne Country Day Road at N.C. 111 North and replacement of a culvert on N.C. 111 North.

The culvert replacement will require traffic to detour.

The route for northbound traffic will be: From N.C. 111 N (Patetown Road) to U.S. 117 North (William Street), to State Route 1547 (Stoney Creek Church Road), and back to N.C. 111 North. The detour length is 2.6 miles.

The route for southbound traffic will be: From N.C. 111 North (southbound lane) to State Route 1569 (Country Day Road, to State Route 1556 (Wayne Memorial Drive), to U.S. 70, back to U.S. 117 Business and back to N.C. 111 North. The detour length is 3 miles.
