WCC fall registration begins this month

Registration period for fall classes at Wayne Community College begins this month.
New and returning students can sign up on the main campus July 16 from 1 to 7 p.m. and July 17-19 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A second registration period will be Aug. 14 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Aug. 15 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Registration for classes taught on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base will be held Aug. 1-15, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., for active duty military personnel and Aug. 14 and 15 for visiting students, at the Watkins Das Base Education Center.
To get a visitor's pass, civilians must submit a background security check form to the college Admissions Office or Base Visitor's Center by Aug. 11.
New students must complete the enrollment process, take placement tests, and be accepted in order to register for classes.
Classes offered on campus and the base, as well as distance education courses, start Aug. 16.
Payment of tuition and fees is due Aug. 2 for students who register in July, and Aug. 15 for those who register in August.
The tuition rate for 2012-2013 is $69 per credit hour for in-state residents, up from last year's $66.50, with a maximum of $1,104 per semester based on 16 credit hours. The out-of-state rate is $261 per semester hour with a $4,176 maximum. The increase was enacted by the N.C. General Assembly and set by the State Board of Community Colleges in May.
