A local man was hospitalized Sunday evening after shots were fired on Seymour Drive.
Willie Carroll Stevens Jr., 44, told members of the Goldsboro Police Department that he was walking along the fence that separates Seymour and Day Circle when he noticed a black man pointing a gun in his direction.
Moments later, the man pulled the trigger and fired several shots -- one of which struck Stevens in the right arm.
First responders arrived at the scene at close to 9 p.m. and transported the victim to Wayne Memorial Hospital.
No suspects have been identified, but the person who fired the shots faces an assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury charge.
