Heart failure support group to start at Wayne Memorial Hospital on Thursday

A support group for patients, family members and caregivers of those with congestive heart failure will start this month at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

First meeting of the Congestive Heart Failure Support Group will be Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. in Dining Room 2.

Premise of the group is provide support as well as education for those diagnosed with the condition as well as family members who want to learn more about it and how to provide care.

At the first session, Donna Peedin, RN, who works in cardiac rehab at the hospital, will speak on, "What is Heart Failure?"

Future meetings will feature discussions on nutrition, medications, exercise and managing symptoms.
