Golf tournament raises $13,000 for United Way

The United Way of Wayne County held its annual Founders Cup presented by Enterprise Car Sales golf event April 27 at the Walnut Creek Country Club.

The event raised more than $13,000 for United Way of Wayne County.

The 2012 tournament had 22 teams competing for closest to the pin, longest drive, hole-in-one, and eight 30-day memberships to the club.

The first place net score team Seymour Funeral Home. The players for team Seymour Funeral Home were Tyler Matthews, Dillon Matthews, Troy Matthews and Bruce Tart.

The first place gross score team was BB&T. The players were Neal Benton, Mary Bartlett, Steve Anderson, and Joey Lamm.

Second and third place net score teams were Prudential The McMillen Group and New Century Bank.

Second and third place gross score teams were BB&T Insurance and Jackson & Sons.
