Kinston man sentenced on federal drug charges; Goldsboro Police Department assists

RALEIGH -- McKinley Fogg, 30, of Kinston was sentenced Tuesday in United States District Court to 11 years in prison on drug charges after an investigation in which Goldsboro police assisted.

The sentence will be followed by five years of probation.

Fogg, who was charged last February, pleaded guilty in April to conspiring to distribute and possessing with the intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine and a quantity of marijuana.

According to the investigation, Fogg came to the attention of law enforcement after information was received regarding his illegal drug sales in the Pitt County area.

In April 2010, a reverse cocaine deal was arranged in which Fogg and a co-defendant agreed to purchase four kilograms of cocaine from a government agent.

Fogg was arrested when he arrived to purchase the cocaine. The investigation continued and in October 2010, further information revealed that Fogg had conspired to distribute a total of approximately 13 kilograms of cocaine from 2009 to 2010.

Investigation of this case was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Greenville Police Department's Narcotics Task Force, the Pitt County Sheriff's Office, the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office and the Goldsboro Police Department.
