Epsilon Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. will have a "Pink Goes Red Affair" event Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at H.V. Brown Hall cafeteria in Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni and Friends building.
It will start with a walk, followed by a health presentation.
Those participating are asked to wear red comfortable clothing and walking shoes.
"Heart disease is still the No. 1 killer of women, taking the life of one in three women each year," said Renita Dawson, one of the event organizers. "This is especially important for African-American women, who are at increased risk due to factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity and diabetes."
Epsilon Phi Omega has joined forces with the American Heart Association's "Go Red For Women" movement to celebrate national Wear Red Day.
