Woman robbed while in home
Ashley Rich, 26, reported being robbed at gunpoint in her apartment in the 200 block of Linwood Avenue Monday morning.
Ms. Rich told Goldsboro police she heard a knock at her door and when she opened the door an unknown person brandished a firearm.
She was instructed by the gunman to dismantle her home's alarm system. A second suspect then entered the home and removed a 50-inch, flat-screen television, a laptop computer, an iPod notebook and jewelry. The stolen property had a total value of $800.
Ms. Rich said the subjects then left her home and fled in a red Suzuki SUV with a driver waiting.
B&Es and larcenies
*Twalla Powell reported that her home in the 100 block of Vanderbuilt Circle was entered by an unknown suspect(s) between Jan. 16 and Jan. 18.
The items stolen during the break-in include 11 trophies, valued at $2,500; a watch, valued at $2,000; 10 rings, valued at $2,000; a dinette set, valued at $1,800; and a necklace, valued at $350. She said she was unsure if her doors were locked at the time her home was entered.
*Brooke Thompson reported a break-in at her home in the 6000 block of Meadow Lane that occurred Monday. During the break-in a .38-special revolver, 12-gauge double barrel shotgun, Kinect game system, and other property were stolen. The total value of the stolen goods was more than $1,800. Entry was made into the home though a window.
*Nicolette Nelson reported while she was in her home in the 3500 block of U.S. 117 Alternate in Dudley she was interrupted from watching TV when her dog ran to the front of the house. Ms. Nelson then went into the kitchen to find a young male looking into her pantry. She then grabbed a shovel and the suspect ran from the home.
*Domino's Pizza employee Joseph Watson reported that a customer at the Durham Lake Road location in Dudley paid for the order of pizza and wings with a green piece of paper then grabbed the food and ran out the door. The $19 theft occurred Monday around 10:30 p.m.
