Three Wayne Country Day School students received recognition in the Scholastic Art Awards for eastern/central North Carolina, hosted by Barton College in Wilson.

More than 2,000 entries were received in the annual art and writing contest for grades seven through 12. The three categories for awards are Gold and Silver Key and honorable mention.

Eleanor Yarboro and Kennedy Dalton from WCDS received Gold Key distinctions, for painting and digital art, respectively.

Tess Allen, who submitted a digital photo, earned a Silver Key award.

In addition to being honored at a reception in Wilson, Gold Key winners will have their work displayed at the Barton Museum and then be included in a national exhibition in New York City for the next round of competition.
