Many offices closed Monday for holiday

Federal and state offices, the post office and banks will be closed Monday for the New Year's Day holiday.
The following Wayne County departments are closed until Jan. 2: Animal Control, Board of Elections, Day Reporting Center, Development Alliance, Environmental Health Department, Facilities Services, Finance Department, Register of Deeds, Social Services, GIS/Planning, Health Department, Human Resources, Information Technology, Inspection Department, Office of Emergency Services, Veterans Services and Soil and Water Conservation.
The Tax Department and Register of Deeds will open Friday and will be closed Monday.
Cooperative Extension, the Wayne County Library and county landfill will be closed Monday.
Town halls in Goldsboro, Mount Olive, Fremont, Pikeville, Walnut Creek, Eureka and Seven Springs will be closed.
The Pikeville Town Board meeting will be held Jan. 3 at 7 p.m. and the Mount Olive meeting has been moved to 7 p.m. on Jan. 9.
