Pete Evrard, left, and Lynn Williams of Mt. Olive Pickle Co. ready the company's giant pickle for the annual New Year's Eve Pickle Drop that will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday. The event, in its 13th year, is one of America's leading offbeat New Year's Eve festivals, drawing people from across the country. The timing coincides with the strike of midnight in Greenwich, England, where it will be 2012 mean time.
