Cliffs to hold Christmas flotilla

The Cliffs of the Neuse state park will hold its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Party, beginning at 6 p.m. Friday with the flotilla at 7:30 p.m. The annual holiday event is sponsored by Friends of the Cliffs. It will include music and movies by the lake.
The flotilla is open to the public for non-motorized watercraft. Call 778-6234 to pre-register with Candace Rose. Monetary donations for the Friends of the Cliffs will be accepted. New unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots, canned goods for local soup kitchens also will be accepted. Hot dogs and refreshments also will be available for purchase.
Then, on Dec. 26, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Cliffs will hold its annual Christmas Play Day to allow parents and children a safe place to enjoy their new toys.
