All clear at ECU

GREENVILLE -- Officials at East Carolina University have ended a lockdown of the campus after a man carrying a gun was see on 5th Street shortly after 10 a.m.
The campus residence halls were secured and students and faculty were told to sit tight as police investigated the report.
There were no reports of shots fired and after a sweep of the campus, police called off the alarm. No gunman was found.
Campus police worked with Greenville pPolice and the Pitt County Sheriff's Department to search neighborhoods near campus.
Four Pitt County Schools near the area also were placed on temporary lockdown.
