The Wayne County Historical Association is accepting entries for its photography contests.

Entries should be photos of subjects at least 50 years of age. Participants may take photos of historic buildings or artifacts. This includes but is not limited to houses, architectural detail of buildings, outhouses, barns, and commercial buildings in Wayne County.

The person entering the contest must also print the photo themselves, unless the photo is printed by a commercial printer. All work must be done by the contestant.

Photos may be taken with any camera but a Polaroid. Both black and white and colored formats are allowed, and contestants are encouraged to use the format that is best for their entry.

Each contestant may enter up to four photographs, but may only place in the contest with one photo. Prints must be in either a 5x7 or larger format and mounted individually. Prints may be mounted either professionally or by using mounting adhesive. The entry form should be filled out and submitted with the entry, preferably by being mounted on the back.

All entries are due by Friday, Sept. 23. Entries may be submitted to the Wayne County Museum or the Wayne County Public Library Main Branch. Entries will be judged and winners will be notified by Oct. 5.

The Wayne County Museum is also sponsoring a photography contest, this one for youth.

Students in grades 4-12 can participate, and submissions are due to the Wayne County Museum or the Public Library by Friday as well.
