Old theft reported at condemned Goldsboro motel
The Gold Inn Motel located at 808 W. Grantham St. had $105,000 of property stolen between Jan. 18 and Feb. 16, according to a police report. The theft was reported Monday.
At the time of the theft, the property had been condemned by the City of Goldsboro, according to the report.
The property reported stolen included $70,000 worth of windows, $20,000 in copper wiring and $15,000 of metal hand railing.
According to the report, the removal of the windows was, essentially, the same as removing the entire walls of the rooms.
An additional $20,000 in damage was caused to the walls, walkway and electrical boxes, according to the report.
