Motorcycle riders from all over eastern North Carolina will take to the roads Saturday to raise money for Carolina East Home Care & Hospice in the second annual Ride for Relief Poker Run.

Starting at Shelton's in Goldsboro, riders will register and start their draw for the prize of $500 for the best poker hand of the ride sponsored by Duplin Medical Supply. Riders will ride through Seven Springs, Pink Hill, Beulaville, Chinquapin and will finish their Poker Run at James Sprunt Community College in Kenansville with a lunch of chicken and all the fixings.

All proceeds from the ride will go directly back into the patients and programs of Carolina East Home Care & Hospice, a nonprofit home health agency based Duplin and Wayne counties that also serves Pender, Jones, Lenoir and Onslow counties.

The first riders are scheduled to go out at 10:30 a.m. from Shelton's and the last riders must be out by 12:30 p.m. Registration for the event is $20 per rider, $10 per passenger and $5 for extra hands. Riders' costs cover one hand of poker and lunch and the passengers' costs cover lunch. Commemorative T-shirts will be available for purchase at James Sprunt.
