Salvation Army shelter opening tonight

The Salvation Army, 610 North William St., will open at 7 p.m. tonight for any Wayne County resident in need of shelter.
Additional shelters are located at Lenoir Community College, 231 N.C. 58 South in Kinston as well as B.F. Grady Elementary School, 2627 N.C. 11 & 903 at Albertson.
The Wayne County Office of Emergency Services will continue to monitor the progress of Hurricane Irene and updates will be provided on the county website at waynegov.com.
