A 21-year-old Dudley man was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-car accident Saturday morning on U.S. 111 South near Price Road in Seven Springs.

According to Chris Cook of the state highway patrol, the accident happened around 1 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle, driven by Alejandro Castillo Aguirre, left the roadway and struck an oak tree.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Aguirre did not appear to have been speeding and Cook said it was unknown whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The vehicle, which was totaled, was towed from the scene.

Aguirre was taken to the morgue at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
