Photography contest added to Sweet Potato Festival

A photography contest has been added to the 2011 North Carolina Sweet Potato Festival to be held this fall in Snow Hill.
The contest is open to all photographers. Photographs of Greene County are preferable and may include sweet potato production and use. The age categories will be children (under 13), young adult (13-18), and adults (19 and older).
There are also three different media categories: animals, people, and nature.
Each photographer is allowed up to three entries and the non-refundable fees are: one entry at $5, two entries at $10 and three entries at $15.
All entries are to be delivered on Sept. 2 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to the Greene County Museum at 107 NW Third St. in Snow Hill. Winners will be announced at a special unveiling reception on Sept. 22 at the museum. For more information, call (252) 747-1999.
