Post 11 falls to Cherryville in state finals

MOREHEAD CITY -- Wayne County Post 11 fell to Cherryville in the Senior American Legion baseball finals today, losing 9-1 to the western region champs.
Cherryville is now the state champions and Wayne the runners-up.
Post 11 beat High Point 11-7 on Sunday in the double-elimination tournament to gain a spot in the finals.
The team finished the season at 27-7.
Cherryville now advances to the Southeast Regional in Sumter, S.C.
