Local business owners and workers will spend a little time Wednesday "behind bars" to help raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Shelton's Harley-Davidson is sponsoring a lockup to encourage people to donate to MDA research.
The lockup will be held at Shelton's at 606 U.S. 70 Bypass East, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Volunteers will be asked to spend an hour "behind bars" for an hour, trying to raise "bail" that will go to help Wayne County residents served by the association. Next to the annual Labor Day telethon, the lockup is the association's chief fundraiser nationwide. Money raised provides local services, clinic visits, research and even a summer camp for local children suffering from any of the 43 know neuromuscular diseases that MDA covers.
