Organizers are expecting more than 250 people to take part in the Goldsboro Walk MS on Saturday at Herman Park.
The walk, which begins at 10 a.m. with registration at 9 a.m., raises money for the National MS Society, which funds research for a cure for multiple sclerosis, as well as provides programs to enhance the lives of those affected.
The Goldsboro Walk is one of five that will be taking place across the Eastern North Carolina Chapter. The others are in Raleigh, Fayetteville, Greenville and Wilmington. The goal of the five walks is to raise $800,000 this year. Across the chapter's 49-county area, there are more than 5,200 people being served by chapter.
