Mount Olive College sets date for 57th Spring Commencement

MOUNT OLIVE -- Mount Olive College will graduate approximately 350 students at its 57th spring commencement on Saturday, May 7, at 2 p.m. in the George and Annie Dail Kornegay Arena.

Commencement speaker will be the Dr. Kay Albertson, president of Wayne Community College. She has 28 years experience in the N.C. Community College System and has been employed with Wayne Community College since August 2000. Prior to being selected as president, she held a variety of administrative positions at WCC including vice president of academic and student services.

Preceding graduation, Mount Olive College will hold its traditional baccalaureate service in Southern Bank Auditorium in Raper Hall at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Gary Bailey, senior pastor of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, will be the keynote speaker.

The Rev. Bailey holds degrees from Mount Olive College and North Carolina State University. He has served the Convention of Original Free Will Baptists for more than 30 years in many different roles, including board of directors of Cragmont Assembly and The Board of Foreign Missions, president of the State Convention of OFWB, and as an ordination council member for the central conference.
